It's been more than a year since our last blog post! YIKES!
Bottom line - we are okay, getting through life's ups and downs
.
BIG UPs OF THE PAST YEAR

Hannah and Cameron were married in May 2024, on a gorgeous day in Annapolis. It was a beautiful celebration of an amazing couple.

Samantha and Henry were married in Wisconsin in September 2024. It was a remarkable day filled with love and joy.

Arthur Overly Hoffman was born on January 18, 2025, weighing 8lb 7oz. Susan, Dan, and Alden are adapting well to life with a new baby at home. We housesat in Atlanta at a nearby home which allowed us to help them for the first couple of months.

We purchased a townhome in Baltimore (Canton)!
Life on boat - full time - can be challenging (see below), and we decided to buy a home and have some stability.
Our nomad, active lifestyle is still in force, but we wanted a place of our own - we have been traveling since April 2022!
We love love love our new home - lots of stairs which keeps us moving, a gorgeous deck to watch sunsets, and so walkable - to the boat (Lighthouse Point Marina) and to all that Baltimore has to offer!
OUR BIG 2024/2025 CHALLENGE

In July 2024 our boat was struck by lightning!!!
A strong summer storm blew by the marina and we took a direct strike to the mast. Smoke billowed out of the electrical panel and alarms went off.
We were on the boat at the time, and fortunately, we were both unharmed. The intensity of the experience was unnerving, to say the least!
The boat was towed to a yacht yard to be checked out the following day. Nearly all electronics were destroyed (anything with a circuit board) and needed replacement. It took quite a long time for some parts to be delivered (many had to come from the Lagoon factory in France), and to finish the repairs. We were able to get back on our boat in April 2025.
What did we do for those 9 months? Family is everything, and all were welcoming to us. We spent months at the cabin in Maine, until the cold drove us out. Then Richmond, VA at Erich's home, then several months in Atlanta. We rented a home near Susan and Dan to help them while we welcomed baby #2. We were overwhelmed with gratitude for this time with them.
During this time, Trip finished writing his book, Terminus, and also completed the audiobook. It's a very good science fiction novel (Pam even liked it and she's not a sci-fi fan!
If you're interested, it's available on all platforms in paperback, Kindle, and audiobook.
The second book is currently being written!
Beause of this experience, we decided it was time to, once again, purchase a home. We have not given up on our boating life, but wanted to have a place to call home. We have a townhome in Canton (Baltimore) and can walk to the boat in 10 minutes. We love it here and always welcome visitors!
LET'S GOOOOOO!
We are ready to get back on Shavasana! The plan is to get around Cape Hatteras at the end of October and spend the winter in the Bahamas. Fingers crossed!!
More updates to come....stay tuned!
